A leading organisation engaging students in democracy and human rights

What We Do

Free & Fair Elections

At Students for Global Democracy Uganda, we believe that free, fair, and transparent elections are the cornerstone of a functioning democracy. Our Free & Fair Elections program works to strengthen electoral processes, enhance citizen participation, and promote electoral integrity at all levels.

We engage students and young people in electoral processes, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and platforms to participate meaningfully as voters, election observers, civic educators, and advocates for electoral reforms that ensure all voices are heard.

Mock Elections
Learning by Doing

Mock Elections

Our Mock Elections program is a hands-on learning experience that simulates real elections in educational institutions. This initiative allows students to experience the entire electoral process, from voter registration to vote counting, in a controlled environment.

Through participation in mock elections, students learn about:

  • Electoral procedures and practices
  • The importance of informed voting
  • The role of election management bodies
  • Democratic campaigning and debate
  • Electoral integrity and transparency

This practical experience helps demystify the electoral process and encourages students to participate actively in real elections.
