Social Justice
At Students for Global Democracy Uganda, we believe that a truly democratic society must be founded on principles of social justice, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law. Our programs in this area aim to promote these principles and build a more just and equitable society.
We work with students, communities, and institutions to raise awareness about human rights issues, advocate for social justice, and strengthen legal frameworks that protect individual rights and freedoms.

Access to Justice
We work to improve access to justice for marginalized communities through legal awareness programs, paralegal training, and advocacy for legal aid services.
Human Rights Education
We conduct comprehensive human rights education programs to raise awareness about rights and responsibilities in a democratic society.
Rule of Law
We advocate for the strengthening of legal frameworks and institutions that uphold the rule of law and ensure equal treatment under the law.
Community Justice
We support community-based justice mechanisms that promote reconciliation, restorative justice, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Social Inclusion
We work to address systemic discrimination and promote the inclusion of marginalized groups in all aspects of society.
Advocacy & Policy Reform
We advocate for policy reforms that address social inequalities and promote a more just and equitable society.
Featured Programs
University Legal Aid Clinics
We establish and support legal aid clinics in universities where law students, under supervision, provide free legal assistance to disadvantaged community members.
Human Rights Monitoring
We train student volunteers to monitor and document human rights violations, particularly during sensitive periods such as elections, and advocate for accountability.
Social Justice Policy Advocacy
We research and develop evidence-based policy recommendations to address social inequalities and advocate for their implementation through engagement with policymakers.
Community Dialogue Forums
We facilitate dialogue between communities and authorities to address social justice issues and find collaborative solutions to local challenges.
